World of Women has just announced a huge partnership with The Sandbox! The two groups are coming together to launch the WoW Foundation, which aims to bring more women and diversity of thought into the NFT and metaverse spaces.
The Sandbox gives World of Women a $25M grant
World of Women will be launching the WoW Foundation, with The Sandbox providing an amazing $25 million grant to kick things off. In essence, the WoW Foundation will look to bring more women into Web3 through education and mentorship. Thus, it hopes to advance the project’s overarching goal of increasing the representation of women in decentralized spaces.
Notably, the funding from The Sandbox will be spread out over five years. As a result, the WoW foundation will have ample backing to pursue its goals for some time to come. To that end, World of Women has highlighted four pillars that it will focus on. To list, these are:
- Uplifting the ecosystem by supporting artists and funding projects
- Educating newcomers
- Communicating to give more visibility to women-centric causes, while inspiring others
- Giving back to charities.
Beyond the funding, World of Women will also be able to leverage not just The Sandbox’s network, but also of its parent company Animoca Brands, and recent partner Brinc. Naturally, the Wow Foundation also plans to support creators to help them on their path in Web3 through things like mentoring, funding their first mint, and helping them host exhibitions in the metaverse.
Speaking on the partnership with The Sandbox, World of Women founder Yam Karkai had the following to say:
“We are thrilled to be teaming up with The Sandbox. With this grant, we are going to establish our mission in the metaverse, by leading and supporting women in this new space.”
Partnership to bring on a metaverse museum, 3D WoW Avatars, and more
And as if all of that wasn’t enough, World of Women and The Sandbox will also be launching a number of exciting initiatives.
As noted above, there will be a WoW Museum in The Sandbox metaverse. The metaverse building will be a showcase for The WoW Foundation and the work it does.
Another key initiative that is bound to excite World of Women holders are the voxelized, 3D World of Women avatars. The project will release these avatars during its Alpha 2 launch. By the same token, The Sandbox previously purchased what was the most expensive WoW NFT at the time. The NFT, which the WoW community named Aurora, will become the new “Goddess” of the metaverse!
Finally, there are WoW University and WoW academy. WoW University will provide free online courses in The Sandbox. Students will learn all about Web3 and receive an NFT diploma when they complete the course. WoW Academy on the other hand is an incubator for projects and artists. Academy mentees will enjoy access to resources from The Sandbox and World of Women.
On the whole, the partnership spells amazing things. Not only for both of these fantastic teams but for the women who will benefit from these various initiatives. To be sure, World of Women continues to raise the bar when it comes to pushing for the representation of women in the NFT space.
