The much-awaited VeeFriends merch dropped yesterday, March 29. However, not many were happy with the NFT merch the project offered. As a matter of fact, many took to Twitter to share their disappointment over the merch’s lack of design. Some went as far as to say, “veefriends merch looks so bad it hurts my eyes.”
How did Twitter react to the VeeFriends merch drop?
First things first. What was part of VeeFriends’ debut collection for Spring/Summer ’22 season? The collection included a range of graphic hoodies and tees made from cotton. The apparel featured VeeFriends characters as well as human characteristics Gary Vee selected himself. The final results are words such as “Kind”, “Passionate”, “Loyal”, “Very Very Very Very Lucky”, and others written across solid tees and hoodies. Needless to say, the designs are a tad bit too basic.
Obviously, Twitter had a field day calling out the merch’s poor designs. For instance, jayvill.eth, wrote, “I used to have mad respect for @garyvee but he’s milking every drop from his cult like following while he can. Vee friends art was shit and so is this merch like what are you doing with the millions and millions of dollars?”
One user compared the merch to sweatshirts you would buy from “a gift shop when you’re cold in the airport”. Another said the items looked like it was designed by “sorority sisters”. Some even pointed out that the $27 – $63 delivery charges were extremely high for a single t-shirt worth $51.
However, several Twitter users also came forward in support of the VeeFriends merch. Twitter user cregan.eth wrote, “Simple stuff like that hits hard for me. Well done @garyvee.”
All things considered, when there are several top NFT projects dropping merch, it’s only natural for fans to expect theirs to be of the best quality and designs. Hopefully, Gary Vee will take note and drop something better next time.
