Ukrainian boxing star is Wladimir Klitschko is dropping an NFT collection to raise funds for his war-stricken country. The two-time world heavyweight champion is teaming up with legendary artist WhIsBe to launch the “Vandalz for Ukraine: WhIsBe x Wladimir Klitschko” NFT series.
Metacurio, the leading NFT creative agency for A-list talent and global brands is managing the historic collaboration between the two icons. The drop will feature four NFT editions of WhIsBe “Vandal Gummy” bears in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
Wladimir Klitschko’s Charity NFT Drop
All the funds from the NFT drop will go directly toward supporting the people of Ukraine during the war through Red Cross Ukraine and UNICEF. The top priority is to purchase the resources most needed by Ukraine in its current defense against Russia.
The former Olympic gold medalist and longest-reigning heavyweight boxing world champion in the world is amazed how art can support worthy causes. He said, “it is a magnificent initiative: a support through art, a superb “suppart” at the service of people who suffer. Art can be beautiful on many levels when used to serve humanity.”
Meanwhile, WhIsBe is one of the first fine artists to enter the NFT space in early 2020. He sold the first non-auction 7 figure NFT in history and is one of the top ten NFT artists in the world. So his participation in this charity is a major boost for the cause. He re-colored and re-designed his popular “Vandal Gummy” bears to match the Ukrainian flag.
The best-selling artist said that he is grateful for the opportunity to be of service for the greater good. He added, “It’s incredible to be able to use my art and this emerging technology to help others in need and provide immediate relief to any location in the world.”
Three editions of “Vandal Gummy” bear NFTs will be on sale for $100, $1,000, and $10,000 respectively. A 1-of-1 NFT selling for $1 million is also headed to the auction block. NFT Community Rallies Behind Ukraine
The NFT community is pulling all the stops to raise funds for Ukraine. So far, the initiatives have been successful. A few days ago, an NFT of the Ukrainian flag sold for $6.75 million on March 2. Meanwhile, the total contributions made to Ukraine via cryptocurrency have now surpassed $50 million. Then, Twitter NFT influencer and collector Zeneca has donated 11.11 ETH to support Ukraine on behalf of ZenAcademy and The 333 Club.
