Mykhailo Fedorov, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, announced on Twitter that they decided to cancel the airdrop and will release an NFT collection to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Ukrainian government had promised an airdrop on March 3rd at 6 p.m. GMT +2 for those who donated to the crypto fund. The announcement came after they received millions in crypto donations to support their country against the Russian invasion.
Mixed Reactions in the Crypto Community as Ukraine Cancels Airdrop
The change in their decision garnered several reactions from the NFT and crypto community. Most were positive and in support of the Ukrainian government. Some even suggested that the collection include the most beautiful parts of Ukraine so that people will know what parts of Ukraine to visit after the war ends. Others want to see the heroes who fought and are still fighting the war as NFTs.
