OpenDAO, the DAO behind the $SOS tokens hype, has just announced that they’ve just reduced the time window to claim $SOS tokens. With this announcement, eligible OpenSea users now have up till January 12th, 3 pm UTC, to claim their $SOS.
How did this happen?
As a decentralised autonomous organisation, OpenDAO’s direction depends on its community. Therefore, the community voted to reduce the time window, with one week’s notice.
In addition to this, the first OpenDAO Improvement Proposal has passed with 64.36% agreeing to a 1-year linear release schedule. NFT enthusiasts can become part of this DAO by staking $SOS tokens. For every $SOS staked, they will receive $veSOS in return. $veSOS is important as it’s a governance token that comes with full voting rights.
How to claim your $SOS
With less than two weeks to go, OpenSea users need to claim their $SOS tokens within the next few days…if not hours. Time is of the essence as 81.67% of the airdrop have already been claimed!
If you’re interested in claiming your $SOS tokens, you should visit the official OpenDao website immediately. After doing this, you need to connect your wallet. The site will then estimate your rewards based on how much ETH you spent on OpenSea. The good news is that any amount of ETH spent is enough to receive an airdrop. Once claimed, the tokens will be sent to your wallet address.
On Christmas eve, OpenDAO dropped free $SOS tokens, available to those who have traded on OpenSea before December 23rd, 12:00 UTC. Safe to say, the NFT community was overjoyed with this announcement. While many have praised this initiative, we strongly encourage all prospective claimants to do their research before opting in.
