Earlier today the official Twitter account for the legendary American rock band, ‘The Doors’, reposted BAYC’s Otherside trailer. Notably, the band’s song ‘Break On Through (To The Other Side)’ scored the viral teaser video.
The Doors’ classic song was an obvious choice for BAYC
If you were one of the countless viewers to watch the trailer for BAYC’s upcoming, Otherside, you perhaps found yourself bobbing your head along to the iconic rock song that accompanied it. Undoubtedly, many viewers will have recognized the song, even if not by its full name.
That’s because the song in the BAYC Otherside trailer is a hugely popular song by The Doors, one of the biggest rock acts in modern music history. As a matter of fact, the song was the first track on The Doors’ self-titled, 1967 debut album.
Obviously, the song’s title and lyrics made it a good choice for the BAYC Otherside teaser. It’s also interesting to note how countless fans and music historians consider The Doors to be one of the biggest countercultural icons of their era. A position that many BAYC holders, and NFT fans in general, might well align with.
It’s possible that the Otherside tweet could have been part of the licensing agreement between the BAYC team and the owners of The Doors’ publishing rights. In any case, many BAYC holders replying to the tweet saw it as a cause for celebration. Indeed, the repost likely exposed the Otherside trailer to a whole new batch of viewers.
Although, a few commenters were quick to point out the minor goof in the repost. To explain, the tweet mentions a Twitter account @apecoindao – an anonymous account with 31 followers at the time of writing. The poster likely meant to tag @apecoin, as Yuga Labs did in its initial Tweet.
