The metaverse platform Terra Virtua has just announced it is rebranding as Virtua. The rebrand comes in the wake of the impending launch of its virtual metaverse, which it has been developing since 2017.
About the rebrand
In 2017, Terra Virtua showcased its metaverse concept at a screening of “Ready Player One.” However, since metaverses were not as popular as they are now, the company shifted its focus to a curated NFT marketplace. Via the marketplace, it sold premium 3D animated digital assets, as well as a set of interactive virtual environments
Terra Virtua has worked with some of the biggest names in entertainment and sports. These include names like Paramount, Dynamite Entertainment and the Hero ISL. It worked hand in hand with these companies to create digital collectibles and their own NFT characters.
The company is now rebranding to finally launch its metaverse, with Phase 1 launching in July 2022. In addition, Virtua Studios, the company’s game development arm, is already actively developing its own range of metaverse-focused games.
A bright future for Virtua
According to the metaverse company’s CEO Jawad Ashraf: “The rebrand announced today will roll out over the coming months, and is very much a metamorphosis period for us. Dropping Terra and becoming Virtua comes at a time when we have transitioned our focus back to launching our virtual universe. We’ve been working on our metaverse for five years; and we are incredibly excited that we can now begin to show our vision to the world.”
In addition to this rebrand, Virtua has also joined joining Williams Racing as their official metaverse partner. Thanks to the metaverse company, the British racing company has successfully joined web3.
