SolStarter, which claims to be the first community IDO for Solana, is under fire for allegedly farming engagement.
In a tweet by Twitter user @zachxbt, he shared numerous screenshots of tweets that all repeat the same sentences. They praise SolStarter and the potential of the project. However, one thing is obvious: most tweets are the same, word for word.
The screenshots include several tweets that repeat specific phrases, word for word. In the Tweet, @Zachxbt said, “Nothing to see here just Solstarter buying engagement to make IDOs look more popular than they are.” It is hard to argue that it is a natural selection of tweets by humans.
Twitter users accuse SolStarter of farming engagement, again.
The Tweets are the latest in a long list of warnings by the NFT community about SolStarter. In October, @PickACrypto highlighted some strange metrics in the Solstarter Tweets. The tweets about the whitelist generated over one hundred thousand retweets and likes.
However, another tweet by SolStarter had fourteen retweets and five hundred likes. Unfortunately, this disparity between the tweets suggests something is not entirely how it seems. Generally, these bots interact with specific tweets and push engagement.
Finally, the IDO project, SolStarter, is yet to respond to the accusations by numerous members of the NFT community. Meanwhile, farming engagement and using bots have gone on in the NFT and Crypto community for a long time. Hopefully, this will become less of an issue as we move forward, and companies can rely on organic online engagement to build their communities.
