NBA franchise, San Antonio Spurs, has raised $200,000/66ETH from their NFT drop which commemorates all of Gregg Popovich’s wins so far. This money came in the first 96 hours alone, and all of the money will go to the San Antonio Food Bank.
About the Project
The San Antonio Spurs and Cultos recently released an NFT project to commemorate their legendary head coach, Gregg Popovich becoming the most winningest coach in NBA history, with 1,336 wins. Therefore, a collection of 1,336 NFTs was a part of the collection and was auctioned on OpenSea. The first five of these NFTs were 1/1s and commemorated his five NBA Championships so far, these included many benefits for fan experiences.
The Donation
The donation of the funds raised by the team went to the San Antonio Food Bank. Unfortunately, San Antonio was recently named the “Most-impoverished large metro area” for the second time. According to data found by SA Current, 350,000 people in the San Antonio area lived under the poverty threshold of $26,500 for a family of four last year. Because of this, the donations from the San Antonio Spurs will be used for the absolute best. They will be much appreciated by all inside of the organisation, and inside the city.
