Rarible Protocol just announced its integration with Polygon, taking another big step step towards a multi-chain future. In addition, Rarible is also joining forces with Polygon Studios, leveraging the latter’s marketing and tech support. Through these efforts, it is clear that the company is trying to establish an ecosystem-wide compatibility.
As the leading open source and multi-chain NFT protocol, Rarible Protocol is building a cross-chain technology stack to accommodate numerous blockchains. Consequently, developers can easily choose the blockchain that they prefer. With the team’s efforts, the protocol is already compatible with Ethereum, Tezos, Flow, and Polygon.
At the time of writing, there are more than 20 projects that are working within Rarible Protocol. Moving forward, the Polygon integration allows these projects to leverage its software development kits and functionality. Also, NFT projects will enjoy higher security, lowest cost, faster speeds, and reduced energy consumption. Users will now get the option of minting ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens. They will also have an option to split fees and royalties.
For Rarible users, this Rarible Polygon integration instantly expands the available collections and marketplaces without leaving the platform. This creates a streamlined experience for users as they can now conduct all activities from Rarible itself.
You’d think this is an impressive milestone, but they are not stopping just yet. Rarible.com is also launching its multi-wallet profile to complement its interoperable NFT marketplace. Users can now access up to 20 wallets from any of the above blockchains. They no longer have to sign in and out of different accounts to manage their digital assets.
Rarible
Rarible is a multi-chain, community-centric marketplace for NFTs. In 2019, the founders created the NFT marketplace for artists and collectors to create, collect, and trade digital collectibles. Today, the platform is one of the top NFT marketplaces in the space. Still, the company continues to add various integration initiatives with market leaders.
On the other hand, the company developed Rarible Protocol for NFT builders. Currently, $RARI token holders govern the Rarible DAO.
Polygon
Polygon represents one of the leading projects on Ethereum, focusing on scaling and infrastructure development. The Polygon suite allows developers to scale their projects through various techniques. It has scaled more than 7k applications to date. They allow Web3 projects to leverage Ethereum’s strengths, while skipping the insane gas fees and slow transaction speeds.
On the other hand, Polygon Studios focuses on supporting developers in building dApps. So far, the company has supported various projects such as OpenSea, Adidas, The Sandbox, and many more. With their vast experience, it is no surprise why Rarible is so eager to ink this deal.
On paper, these two companies seem to have an encouraging amount of similarities with regards to their objectives. Polygon allows an overall more user friendly experience on the Ethereum blockchain. Whereas Rarible continues to improve the customer experience.
