Modeling agency Photogenics announced the launch of an avatar division on Wednesday, September 7. Photogenics is an art-driven model agency, now they are taking the modeling industry to a whole new level with this latest move.
Photogenics is the first brand to come up with this beautiful idea. Furthermore, this new concept will help models monetize their careers beyond the physical world.
More about the Photogenics avatar division
Photogenics made this announcement via an Instagram post. It also stated that it is looking to venture more into the metaverse and NFT space.
To achieve the goals of its newest division, Photogenics partnered with Nina Hawkins of Lilium Labs and 3D filmmaker Sage Morei of Horizon Lab. Photogenics is set to make its debut with 13 avatar models. Some notable models on the list are Sedona Legge, Milan Dixon, Dasha Nguyen, and The Fly Twins.
The process of creating an avatar starts with a face scan that takes less than 10 minutes. Next, the 3D portrait is edited, fine-tuned, and exported. However, this latter part may take a few months.
How real-life models will benefit from this move?
Models might not be able to stay photogenic forever in reality, but their metaverse avatars can. Therefore, avatar models are a great way for real-life models to extend their brand into the virtual world where they’ll not be affected by aging, and where their careers are afforded more longevity.
Models are now provided with more avenues to profit from their careers. Therefore, there is an increase in the daily rates of real-life models.
Brands are taking advantage of metaverse opportunities
The Photogenics avatar division provides a lot of help to other brands looking to use the services of models in the metaverse. This might be for the purpose of modeling wearables or for shoots in the metaverse.
In conclusion, it’s so nice to see brands grasping metaverse opportunities that will help increase their brand value. Most especially, fashion brands are at the forefront of leveraging the many opportunities the metaverse presents.
