Perion DAO Partners with Smart Token Labs To Reward Gamers with NFTs

Exciting news for gamers in the Perion DAO! Smart Token Labs announced that it is working with the DAO to create a Season Rewards NFT (SRNFT). The SRNFT smart tokens will go live this January. At which point, they will go to some of the best gamers in the Perion DAO.

SRNFT smart token will open up exclusive merch rewards

In essence, Perion DAO will award the SRNFTs to its top scholars from Season 19 of Axie Infinity. Those players will then be able to use the NFTs to redeem exclusive merch. The exchange will happen through the “smart-merch” company, Deep Sea Merch.

What’s more, based on their finishing position, the SRNFT in the player’s wallet will qualify them for different products. All of this will be verified directly on the Deep Sea Merch website, which will have Smart Token Labs’ TokenScript framework directly embedded.

The SRNFT marks the beginning of a partnership between Smart Token Labs and Perion DAO. Indeed, while they are starting their Season Rewards program with merch rewards, there will be more exclusive rewards available through the SRNFTs as the year progresses.

NFT Evening spoke to Perion CEO Mitch Penman-Allen, and Smart Token Labs CMO Brent Annels about the partnership. Penman-Allen said,

“If you’re in any space, I think you need to push the boundaries of that space and operate at the forefront of it. And I think with the tech that STL brings to the table, we can do that.”

Annels added, “The Perion guys are at the cutting edge of what’s happening in the play-to-earn space. So if we can help them to create experiences for their gamers – initially in merch, but eventually it’d be all sorts of things – we think that’s the right way to scale up.”

Perion DAO expanding on benefits for its Perion Scholars

To sum up, Perion is a gaming DAO that buys, leases, and manages NFT assets in play-to-earn economies. It then leases these assets to players to use in those p2e games. 

To illustrate how this works, Perion participates in the scholarship model in Axie Infinity. This model came about to address the high entry price of Axies. Notably in markets like The Philippines, where Axie Infinity has become a popular source of income.

Perion CEO Mitch Penman-Allen noted to NFT Evening that the Perion DAO members prompted the move to provide the scholarships.

“Thousands of members were coming in, and the sheer number of people asking for scholarships blew us away. So we realized how big this could be.”

Perion puts itself among the very best scholarship providers in Axie Infinity. To be sure, Penman-Allen finds the DAO’s scholarships to be one of the most rewarding things that it provides. To that end, according to the Perion whitepaper, Perion scholars in the Philippines can make 195% of the national average salary in the country, over the course of a year.

Smart Token Labs

In short, Smart Token Labs builds smart token bridges and interfaces that increase the utility of Web3 tokens. One of the ways it does this is through its TokenScript application. To explain, Annels spoke about how partnering with Perion DAO showcases the power of the TokenScript framework.

Without a doubt, the Web3 future that Smart Token Labs is working to develop is an intriguing one. It’s a Web3 that is more user-friendly and powered by NFTs and tokens that are smarter and more usable across platforms.
