Unfortunately, NFT scammers attacked the discord server of “Jenkins the Valet”. Along with this, the discord server of Fractal – a startup project from Twitch, was also hacked where scammers stole $150K worth of crypto.
While crypto and NFTs are secure assets, other platforms associated with these projects remain prone to hacking attempts by scammers.
But today we’re here to tell you about this interesting line of events following Jenkins’ discord attack.
NFT Discord Scammers: Are we safe?
To begin, some hackers impersonated the admins of the “Jenkins the Valet” discord channel and posted a fraudulent wallet link as a new wallet address for minting NFTs.
Sadly, some fell prey to this phishing scam and hackers stole over 16 ETH. After some time, the account was restored by NFT organizers.
But a user called @PunkGod69.eth brilliantly disclosed the hacker’s identity.
Apparently, he works for cybersecurity and sensed that something was ‘fishy’. Therefore, he acted as an investor and sent the scammer a link, which included a screengrab control. As a result, he could see the hacker’s screen, name, and online activity.
Furthermore, @PunkGod69.eth went on revealing the hacker’s identity as Andrew Alsid, along with his Spotify account and Twitter handle. Genius isn’t it?
Moving along, he also texted the alleged scammer to expose him fully. Not so surprisingly, seeing his fate, the scammer tried to offer him money.
