Mei Ah Entertainment Group has partnered with Beam+ Lab to launch a classic Hong Kong film-themed NFT collection, Cryptyques. The collection is based on movies authorised by Mei Ah Entertainment Group, a Hong Kong-based entertainment and distribution company. In fact, the company owns the majority of IP rights to classic Hong Kong movies. So let’s take a look into what the Cryptyques NFT collection is all about!
What is Cryptyques NFT Collection?
The Cryptyques NFT collection aims to bring classic Chinese films into the metaverse. Ultimately, the project’s aim is to create a community of movie lovers, Web3 leaders, collectors, and creators.
Acclaimed Hong Kong-based photographer and director, Wing Shya is the creative director of Cryptyques. He has carefully curated the NFT collection in partnership with a Hollywood production crew famous for their works with movies like X-Men and Transformers.
“Cryptyques takes a deep dive into another technological milestone that enhances the craft of cinematography—reimagining a form of artistry anew—that we feel proud of,” said Shya.
How to Get a Cryptyques NFT?
The project will launch the Cryptyques NFT collection in three phases—past, present, and future. The past phase will focus on seven emotions—desire, fury, fear, joy, bitterness, loathing, and love. The project will launch an NFT collection corresponding to each emotion, reinterpreted as one of Mei Ah Entertainment Group’s iconic movies from the 1980s.
The first collection, Desire, will feature 1,320 NFTs of 3D-animated video clips. You can buy these as mystery boxes on the official Cryptyques website, starting this June. There will be five NFT sets in the collection, of which, the fifth will be auctioned as a one-of-one NFT.
All in all, Cryptyques NFT is an interesting project catering to movie enthusiasts. The final outputs remain to be seen.
