Netgear is on the move to harness the opportunities in the NFT market by integrating with Metamask. The networking hardware manufacturer is turning its Meural smart frame into a display for NFTs. Metamask brings 21 Million monthly active users to the table, so Netgear has a solid base to work on.
Netgear x Meural: Scope of Partnership
Meural digital photo frame is an existing product. So basically, Netgear is repurposing it to display NFTs instead of just digital photos. With the partnership in place, users can upload NFTs to Meural and safely store them. In addition, it introduces a new utility for the NFTs. Just imagine, your Bored Ape and Doodles won’t just be a profile picture but an actual art display.
Take note that Netgear is not revamping Meural to cater to NFTs exclusively. So you can still use it to display slideshows and images from your phone locally or remotely. It’s also slated to have access to the world’s largest streaming library of art and photography. This library is set to include works from classical and contemporary artists as well as a variety of branded content. This service is available as either a monthly or annual subscription and costs $8.95 and $69.95, respectively.
Let’s talk about the specifics. The Meural Frames are available in various sizes to fit all your needs. The smallest would be 13.5 x 7.5 inches, perfect for desk or table displays. Then, there are also larger wall-mounted options that measure 16 x 24 and 19 x 29 inches. So it would be perfect for gallery displays and home decorations.
You can get your hands on them on Amazon or Netgear. The smaller ones are priced at $299.95 while, the larger two cost $399.95 and $599.95. However, the only downside is that none of the frames have a display resolution greater than 1080p.
Hardware and NFT Integrations
Netgear is not the only tech giant to recognize the potential of NFTs. Samsung is launching smart TVs with NFT implementation. The company refers to this groundbreaking feature as ‘the world’s first TV screen-based NFT explorer.’ This smart calibration feature will allow users to view NFTs in high quality, making justice to the content creators’ artworks.
If established and successful businesses are willing to tweak their product to integrate NFTs, it can only mean one thing. NFTs are here to stay and we haven’t seen the best of it. In fact, despite the record-breaking NFT sales and market growth, we’ve barely scratched the surface. To put things into perspective, NFTs just gained momentum last year, yet brands, celebrities, governments and companies are hopping into it!
Just imagine how much the landscape will change once NFTs hits 5 years!
