NBA Top Shot is one of the largest NFT projects in the NFT space. With its Moments packs highlighting the best and most important events in basketball history, surely fans can’t get enough of the memorable NFTs. Last Saturday, they announced several crucial changes for the project.
Key Changes on the NBA Top Shot NFT Project
NBA Top Shot creator, Roham Gharegozlou, divided the updates into several categories: scarcity, rarity packs, roadmap, community rewards, and its ecosystem. Here are some of the most important ones:
First, when it comes to the scarcity, they declared every existing 60,000+ Circulating Count Moment in their Base Set as a Limited Edition Moment. Also, during this season, the Common moments will not be minted for more than 30,000 times.
The guaranteed rarity packs will be back. This means NBA Top Shot fans will now know if they’re getting a Common, Rare, or Legendary pack. However, they announced that these will be difficult to get.
Fans who have built up a significant Collector Score will have a priority queue to a rare pack Topshot drop this week. There will also be ultra-limited Rare and Legendary drops at the end of the series.
They also added several plans concerning their roadmap. Soon, marketplace users will be able to bid and customize their profiles. In addition, there will also be “challenges” where fans can permanently lock some Moments. And in exchange, they will get ultra-limited rewards.
For the community, starting this week NBA legends will take part during Discord AMAs with fans. They will also be giving out NBA league passes and hosting three Access Unlocked events in the future.
The NBA Top Shot NFT project had hit some bumps along the road, but now it continues to prove that it has a long-term vision for its thriving community. You can check out their full announcement here.
