Having teamed up with Chromia and Mines of Dalarnia, My Neighbor Alice is working to build a cross-dapp interoperable metaverse. In short, the primary goal of this grant is to encourage devs to build features and put systems in place that will make multiple ecosystems connect easily.
One game’s resources can be used in another one, the same wallet/currency will be accepted in different games, etc. These are some of the goals of My Neighbor Alice’s game development grant.
In the words of Lenny Pettersson — CMO, My Neighbor Alice, “From the beginning, My Neighbor Alice has been guided by a philosophy of flexibility and inclusivity. By encouraging the growth of other interconnected projects, we can expand our community by providing a greater range of experiences.”
How Does My Neighbor Alice Work?
As you already know, My Neighbor Alice is a multiplayer building game. Alice’s world has many fun activities like farming, beekeeping, bug catching, fishing, etc. You have to buy a piece of land to join all the social and community-based activities.
A DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) consisting of a group of members takes the decisions on the platform through voting. My Neighbor Alice’s game development grant is one of the many decisions that the DAO made. There’s also a possibility of extending the fund to do more work in the space.
My Neighbor Alice has done some impressive work so far including an alpha playtest, launching a minigame, and organizing a bunch of NFT sales. However, it’ll be interesting to see how they select and fund the projects in the coming day to extend the metaverse.
MNA’s partners, Chromia and Mines of Dalarnia are also well-known entities in the play-to-earn space. Chromia is a layer 1 Blockchain application, and it can also act as a layer 2 on Ethereum to lower the gas fees.
Whereas Mine of Dalarnia is a “play-to-earn action-adventure game with multiple levels.” Mostly dealing with the underground world, you can collect minerals, artifacts, and relics as resources. In the Dalarnia universe, all player gets a fair opportunity to make an income.
Overall, it’s a great partnership with great results. And we’re hopeful that more such grants will come in the future to boost the P2E economy.
