The MekaVerse Discord just got hacked! At the time of writing, the team is still trying to fix the issue, with no further update yet. Few hours ago, the team released a statement to their community to alert them of this issue. Because of this Discord hack, the MekaBots reveal will delay for a day or two. The MekaVerse community can only wait to see what happens next.
MekaVerse Discord Hack
Obviously, the community is not happy. Twitter user Adam Litvack posted several Discord screenshots, claiming to be a victim of the hack. According to the screenshots, Julien’s account posted a special announcement in one of the MekaVerse Discord channels. Adam requested for urgent help through the MekaVerse support tickets as his Gutter Cat Gang NFT was missing. But to his dismay, no help arrived.
Adam dropped an OpenSea account, claiming that it belongs to the hacker. This account has a ton of activity since yesterday, selling loads of NFTs. It is also apparent that Adam’s Gutter Pigeon #1845 sold for 1.558 ETH 10 hours ago. Besides this piece, the account’s recent activity also includes the sales of Invisible Friends, CyberKongz, MekaVerse, and other notable NFTs. If this is indeed the hacker, he’s probably out partying right now with all the money he made today.
NFT Discord hacks are not new. Some victims in the past have received adequate compensation, while some were left to dry. At this point, it is still unclear as to how MekaVerse plans to deal with this issue, and whether there will be any compensation given to the victims.
