News started going around on Twitter about a crazy offer on an NFT on OpenSea. Nothing we haven’t heard before, but this one was big. A chemical waste bin with octopus tentacles sliding out the top has been the talk of the NFT town. The mega mutant serum NFT.
It was a huge day for the crew at Bored Ape Chemistry Club. For those who don’t know, Bored Ape Chemistry Club consists of 10,000 mutant serum NFTs. They belong to the Ape family. You can be a part of the Ape family if you purchase a Bored Ape or a Mutant Ape NFT.
The mega mutant serum chemical waste bin sold for a massive 1,005ETH, that is $3,813,050.40 to be exact. Over 3.7 million dollars. There was a jump up from the previous offer. Looking at the two bids before, the buyers jump the price up quickly. One person bid 16ETH, the next 69.69ETH and then 1,005ETH, out of nowhere.
The Ape family are unique digital collectables. They exist on the Ethereum blockchain. Once armed with your Bored Ape / Mutant Ape (which doubles as your Yacht Club membership card), you get members-only benefits. The first is access to THE BATHROOM, a collaborative graffiti board.
Bored Apes and Mutant Apes seem to be unstoppable. Having one in your pocket is a huge advantage nowadays, with value only increasing.
