The new Space Doodles drop is live now, and people can view their Doodles NFT flying across the galaxy. However, not everyone is happy, and some believe it is not as remarkable as it seems.
One Twitter user, @ArtHouseGarbage, dismissed the Space Doodles drop in a tweet to his 6,355 followers. He said, “I was told that Doodle ships were going to ‘change the game’ and added a new utility that would be the ‘envy of every project.’ But I think all that happened was a few people accidentally sold their Doodle. LOL.”
Many in the comments were quick to defend the Space Doodles drop. The project uses a new approach to NFTs, but some are still unsure. Essentially, every Space Doodles is a personal spaceship for your Doodle. An NFT token wraps the Doodles NFT and changes its appearance. Meanwhile, to view your Space Doodles, you must transfer your Doodle in and receive your Space Doodle.
People pointed out to @ArtHouseGarbage that we should be applauding projects that challenge the status quo. The mechanism itself is pretty different, and Doodles is doing something entirely new. In fact, the Space Doodles drop adds value to the Doodles NFT whilst maintaining its status as a singular NFT. Furthermore, it allows the Doodles holders to view their NFTs in a new light, providing a superb alternative.
Finally, the Space Doodles drop isn’t all that is happening in the Doodles world. The team will hold a two-day event in Austin, Texas, as part of the SXSW conference in two days. Doodles x SXSW runs from March 12th – 14th, and there are exclusive music performances, events, and much more.
