A Bored Ape buyer decided to help out another member of the BAYC community by using an ape to save one that was scammed. The BAYC member announced the story of redemption on Twitter.
A Tale as Old as Time: How One Bored Ape Saved Another
Twitter user BoredApeG helped BAYC member DillyDilly_eth get his forever ape back from a scammer. BoredApeG devised a genius plan to get the ape back, consisting of him trading his own zombie ape for Dilly’s stolen ape. While letting Dilly trade any ape plus 5 ETH in return for his ape back.
The deal devised by BoredApeG worked, with the stolen forever ape ending up in safe hands. As a result, one Bored Ape saved another.
This story of the saved Bored Ape shows the kindness of the BAYC community. It also shows the need to support one another as scammers become more prevalent within the industry. BoredApeG tweeted this after the fiasco:
We as a NFT community need to remain vigilant and support one another as scammers get more sophisticated in our space. It is my hope that sharing our story will further that message. He said after saving the Bored Ape.
As a result, the NFT community needs to unite and help out one another. Scammers and hackers will continue to take advantage of NFT collectors. Thus, it is crucial we up our security protocols.
