Bored Ape Yacht Club member Vis.Eth has just purchased a golden fur ape for 777 Eth or $1,478,000 USD. This sale made waves, especially considering the current bear market. However, this sale shows that NFT enthusiasts like Vis.Eth see the potential of Bored Ape Yacht Club, or BAYC, beyond the bear market.
About the Golden Fur Bored Ape NFT sale
The Golden Fur Bored Ape NFT, or Bored Ape #5383, is a six-trait ape with angry eyes, a lumberjack shirt and a bored-looking, unshaven mouth. According to Rarity Tools, Ape #5383 is the 320th rarest ape.
In an interview with the Bored Ape Gazette, Vis.Eth said: “I wanted to collect a golden monkey. 777eth is a suitable price. Yuga will be the first successful social verse.” This isn’t Vis.Eth’s first major sale. The NFT enthusiast previously purchased 4500ETH, or $9,000,000 USD worth of Otherdeeds.
About BAYC’s recent sales
BAYC remains one of the most popular blue-chip NFT collections. In addition to this recent Golden Fur Bored Ape NFT sale, an NFT enthusiast bought a Trippy Mega Mutant Bored Ape for 2300 ETH or $3.91 million USD. In June, American actor Seth Green made headlines after he paid 165 ETH or $300,000 USD to be reunited with his stolen Bored Ape.
Other famous individuals obsessed with BAYC include Madonna, who recently told Variety that she is pinning after Ape #3756. Elon Musk, Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton, Travis Barker and Shaquille O’Neal are but some of the many celebrities who own BAYC NFTs.
