Crypto Twitter is slamming NFT influencer Lurking after Derpy Apes founder @WinnyDrippy revealed that he is a scammer!
In a long and detailed Twitter thread, @WinnyDrippy shared that he hired Lurking as an advisor for $8000. Then, after sending his payment, the NFT influencer with over 11,000 followers claimed that he was hacked. So he refuses to honor the terms of the agreement and denies that he has any part in it.

NFT Influencer Lurking is a Scammer?
According to Winny Drippy, he reached out to Lurking because the latter seemed professional. In addition, a couple of reputable influencers was following him and he was offering the services that he needed. So on paper, he was the perfect advisor for his upcoming project.
He attempted to do due diligence by asking for Lurking’s full name and verifying his wallet address. At this point, everything checked out. He also felt comfortable because the wallet address has some major NFTs from blue-chip projects like @coolcatsnft, @CyberKongz, @foxfamnft and @doodles.
Things started tumbling down after he sent his payment. When he was trying to set up a Discord call to get things started, Lurking claimed he had no access to his account. He said, “Not sure if you were talking to a scammer but I never had a conversation with you. My Twitter was hacked yesterday and I didn’t get back into it until today.” He also tried to play it cool by asking for DMs and insisting he had no idea about the Transaction.
Winny Drippy was having none of it and he immediately called him out for trying to pull one over him. After a heated exchange, Lurking switched his tones from sympathetic to blaming Winny Drippy. He said, “Actually now I’m gonna be rude. You paid someone $8000 over a DM and expected that to go well?”
As of press time, Lurking’s Twitter account is no longer accessible.
NFT Community’s Take
@WinnyDrippy urged the NFT community to remain vigilant. He expressed dismay over the incident but his top priority right now is to spread the word so others won’t get ripped off. He tweeted, “People like him ruin it for so many in this space. If he got me for $8000 I can’t even imagine how much he’s made scamming people by abusing his status. This is not a sob story, neither is it me asking for some kind of donation. I just don’t want anyone else getting ripped off.”
Despite this big blow, he remains optimistic. He added, “$8000 is a lot for me, but I believe this is just a roadblock with success on the other side.”
The Twitter thread has gone viral to Crypto Twitter and the community is outraged. Unfortunately, other users shared similar horror stories about Lurking. The fact that he made zero moves to return the funds proves that he is a scammer. As @matascup puts it, “Transaction is real and ETH went to his account, not even a burner wallet. Even if Twitter hacked, he could still send the funds back.”
