Discord went down on Tuesday evening due to technical issues. The app in question logged users out. It was a momentary silence in the NFT space.
Downdetector started receiving many reports from users at around 2 PM GMT. Users complained they couldn’t use the app or send messages. They also couldn’t log back in.
Of the reports, 53% are related to server connections. Meanwhile, 31% are linked to problems with sending messages. A further 16% are related to issues with the app.
Discord said in a tweet: “We’re aware of an issue causing message failures and are working on a fix. Apologies for the disruption & thx for hanging tight!”
Discord updated on Twitter about the services being restored later on. “Discord is back up and running for messages, calls, and streams! We are still working on a few things like attachments and typing events, but those should come back online soon. Thanks for the patience everyone~”
Much to everyone’s reactions, they jokingly followed this up with another tweet saying “time to go outside everyone.” Twitter users reacted with witty replies and retweets. Some included photos of them actually being outside suggesting that they’re taking this Discord downtime to pause from spending hours on the app.
It wasn’t only Discord that encountered some technical issues at the time
Downdetector also received reports about problems with Spotify. Fortunately, both platforms are now working well.
As of 13 hours ago, Discord updated their Incident Report about the technical issue. You can check on their website to learn more about the cause of this incident.
Some of the users in NFT Community servers rushed back to the app as soon as they heard about the issues being fixed.
