The popular Solana NFT project DeGods has announced an unprecedented investment in Ice Cube’s new basketball league. Big3 is a new professional basketball league founded by the iconic rap artist Ice Cube.
Now, the association is offering the chance to own a team via NFTs. In total, there are 12 teams in the three vs three sports league.
DeGods has opted to buy all 25 of the fire-tier NFT ownership stakes in the Killer 3s team. What’s more, DeGods NFT holders will also benefit from the new venture. They now have access to 500 whitelist spots of a possible 975 to mint Killer 3’s Gold-tier NFTs.
DeGods now has complete control over the Big3 league team, Killer 3s.
After purchasing all 25 of the fire-tier NFTs, for the Killer 3s team, DeGods now has full control of them, and the community will play an important role. Importantly, now they have a say in the team’s running, including the role of team CEO, president, VP, and IP rights to create merchandise. Each fire tier NFT costs $25,000, which is a significant investment.
“This is probably the most fascinating experiment in the entire NFT space right now,” said founder Frank DeGods. “It’s cool because owning and operating a basketball team is a dream for millions of people. Now, we get to make that dream true for our holders”, he added.
Killer 3s will sport a DeGods patch on their official game jerseys. The NFT project’s logo will also feature on broadcasts, including the scoreboard. What’s more, this investment will provide DeGods with a huge spotlight to promote their NFT project.
Finally, it is an exciting time to be a DeGods NFT community member, and now the project is growing and entering the real-life sports world.
