Tinder dropped a subtle tweet yesterday, indicating interest in NFTs and also female artists. The tweet read: ‘Which female artists and creators should we be following in the NFT space?’ Make of it what you will, but I think something is up their sleeves.
Many Twitter users have responded by tagging who they think are Tinder-worthy female artists. In addition, some female artists have shared their own profiles, their artwork, and short descriptions of themselves. The thread now features many amazing profiles and artwork, ready for whatever Tinder is planning.
In any case, this is a great opportunity to promote female artists in the NFT space. According to an ArtTactic research, women make up only 16% of the NFT market. Featuring their artwork in a strong, international community is a beautiful occurrence in itself.
NFT x Dating
NFT-related dating apps are not new, to say the least. Last year, Bumble announced plans to incorporate Web3 features through Bumble BFF. This will ultimately give users a new experience on their platform.
Besides that, the Bored Ape Yacht Club also shared plans for their new dating app. The Lonely Ape Dating Club works like any other dating app, but primarily for NFT owners. Users can connect their crypto wallets to fully utilize the app’s features.
Basically, users can filter potential matches based on net worth and the amount of NFTs they hold. Interestingly, this opens up room for their new feature: Coin Digger. This function allows other users to connect with higher net worth individuals in the NFT space.
