CyberKongz Gears Up for VX Initial Kong Offering For Metaverse Move

Nothing’s stopping CyberKongz VX from swinging towards its Metaverse home in The Sandbox. The project has confirmed that the VX Initial Offering will take place on Sunday, August 15th at 19:00 UTC – 21:00 CET – 3 PM.

We need to backtrack a little to fully appreciate and understand what the CyberKongz VX NFT Drop represents. 

On March 3rd, 2021, 1000 unique and randomly generated CyberKongz emerged from the turbulent NFT jungle. Yes, even before wildly popular ape-themed Collectible, Bored Ape Yacht Club. Then, the project pivoted from being pure 2D Avatar Collectibles into a  community-based project. 

The project gave each Genesis CyberKong #1 – #1000 the ability to generate 10 $BANANA per day passively. This is the native utility token of the CyberKongz ecosystem. NFT Holders can use them for various activities such as naming, payment and breeding babies.

Due to the low supply of just 1000 Genesis NFTs, the community base was also small. So to address this, the project introduced the concept of breeding. Basically, A combination of 2 genesis Kongz, plus a healthy donation of (600) bananas, produces a single Baby Kong. With a total supply of 4000, 1,622 Baby Kongz have so far been brought into existence.

Now the project has set its eyes on moving to the Metaverse. The team purchases a massive 24×24 plot at Sandbox, branding it “Kongz Jungle.” Now it’s time to meet the Grand Apes that will roam around this dynamic lot.

With the upcoming drop, 15,000 voxel avatars will be released to the meta realm.  5000 “Cyberkongz VX” are reserved for owners of the Genesis Collection. Meanwhile, the rest will be available for purchase at a flat price of .07 ETH. 

As for the mechanics,  each 2D CyberKong lets owners mint a playable voxel-based CyberKongz VX. CyberKongz VX minted by a Genesis CyberKong will have the exact same traits as their 2D counterparts. Thus, they will be the only ones to have a matching 3D VX avatar with the accompanying 2D profile picture. 

The remaining 1,400 CyberKongz VX will be randomly generated with different traits, both known from the CyberKongz universe and hundreds that are completely new. Then, 10,000 CyberKongz VX will be available on the free market. However, owning a 2D CyberKong will bring more additional advantages in the upcoming development levels.

Reception and Future Plans 

Naturally, the community is excited over the NFT Drop, especially the Genesis NFT Holders. On Twitter, a user called the model a “gold mine.” He pointed out that 10 $BANANA per Kong NFT currently priced at $7.1637 combined with the rising floor is definitely a good deal. 

The NFT Drop is just the first phase. According to the website, the second evolution of CyberKongz VX will introduce more utility such as “The Banana Shop.”  Players will be able to buy custom CyberKongz VX equipment and wearables to give their avatar additional playability and style during adventures in community-built Metaverse games.
