Popular crypto Podcaster – Cobie is now offering Twitter users $10,000 to use ethereum. The incident came after some users criticized NFTs in a thread.
While one of these critics declined the offer, another accepted and brought an NFT on OpenSea.
Crypto Podcaster Cobie and the Twitter war
On Saturday, Cobie discussed the criticism received from the gaming community regarding NFT technology.
Cobie wrote “The outrage from gamers over the inclusion of NFTs is an astronomical unwitting vote against self-interest. Why would a gamer not want to own their own in-game progress and achievements? It seems only beneficial for users to own those items personally, instead of the gaming company retaining ownership.”
Following his tweet, many users responded with some negative comments. Some argue that environmental damage caused by ethereum is significant. Others have questioned the value of NFTs themselves.
Finally, Cobie answered one of the critics with: “If you have an Ethereum address, I’ll send you $10,000 to say cheers,”
Although, Cobie is not the first crypto-enthusiast to offer money to encourage sceptics to start using ethereum. Earlier, NFT collector Vincent Van offered $5,000 to some NFT critics following a backlash.
Over the last year, NFTs have ignited a debate in the gaming and arts industries, posing obstacles for corporations and creators wishing to enter the market.
