Cheech and Chong movies are so 80s they are launching NFTs instead!

Legendary and somewhat stereotyped stoners, Cheech & Chong, have announced they are developing a series of NFTs with artist Jermaine Rogers. The collection will celebrate the comedy pair’s 50-year career as the world’s best-loved cannabis fiends, while also introducing new characters and storylines.

Basically, the Cheech & Chong NFTs have been created in partnership with Easy Partners LLC. The plan is to launch a major new collectibles brand, ‘My Homies by Cheech & Chong’. Meanwhile, the series itself is called ‘Homies in Dreamland’. At the time of writing, no release date has been confirmed for either, and we have no details on which marketplaces will be involved.

Who are Cheech & Chong?

If you don’t know who Cheech & Chong are you’ve either spent too much time smoking up with them, or you’re under the age of about 35. Put simply, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong shot to fame in the 1970s and enjoyed huge success throughout the following decade, too.

Their repertoire includes standup, movies, records, and more. All of which are based around exaggerated stereotypes of the hippy and free love era. Essentially, they have adventures packed with mishaps, while getting incredibly high.

And What About Jermaine Rogers?

Jermain Rogers is an artist and collectible creator. He has made posters for the likes of Tool, Foo Fighters, David Bowie, and Childish Gambino. He first gained notoriety as a member of the Texas poster art scene. Therein, he is counted alongside the likes of Frank Kozik and Uncle Charlie.

The Cheech & Chong NFT collection comes at a particularly busy time in the collectibles world. Recent series that have caught our eye include James Dean and 8th Wonders.
