Fresh Fools has the alpha for anybody looking to “ruin” a good NFT project! Basically, the Fresh Fools team put out a hilarious blog post about their mint process. In particular, they playfully mocked themselves for their decision not to have a whitelist for their mint.
Fresh Fools gives the scoop on “How to ruin a good NFT project”
Fresh Fools is an NFT collection of 5757 fun and colorful blue characters. The collection features over 360 traits and 5 trait groups. As a result, each Fool has a distinct look, while keeping a cohesive aesthetic throughout the whole collection.
As one might expect from a project called Fresh Fools, the team does a good job of not taking itself too seriously. For example, look no further than its recent hilarious blog post about its mint.
The full title of the post is “How to ruin a good NFT project into a FUD-fest. A quick guide.” To sum up, the post is Fresh Fools’ way of poking fun at critics of its strategy. To explain, in contrast to most NFT projects these days, Fresh Fools did not have a whitelist.
That’s because the team didn’t like what the whitelist process has turned into in NFTs as a whole, and so decided to handle their project differently. (To be sure, the Fresh Friends team aren’t the only ones who think NFT whitelists have gotten out of hand).
Thus, one way to read the blog is as a tongue-in-cheek way for Fresh Fools to comment on all the criticisms it likely got as a result of its no whitelist policy. It includes the section headers: “Have an awesome concept, that translates to awesome art”; “Create hype and FOMO even when you decided otherwise” and “Let your devs take risky, potentially damaging decisions”.
Fresh Fools then finishes the post by saying, “And there you go, that’s how you ruin a good project. Have devs inexperienced in the space, make bad decisions, communicate less than you should. Congrats, you’ve finished this guide.”
