Andy Nguyen, entrepreneur, Web3 enthusiast, and proud owner of Bored Ape #6184, is launching the Bored & Hungry Restaurant next month. The BAYC-based restaurant is set to open its doors on April 9, 2022 at 2405 E 7th St. in Long Beach, California. Among many Web3 and NFT-related surprises, all BAYC owners will also receive a free meal on that day.
This 90-day popup is basically a smashburger concept powered by Trill Burgers and Beleaf Burgers. These are two IRL concepts under Andy Nguyen’s food nation, and will now be under his Bored Ape brand. His goal? To give back to the Web3 community, and to educate the public that they can create a brand/business from an NFT’s intellectual property.
Andy Nguyen: Before Bored & Hungry Restaurant
Andy’s parents were immigrants from Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The family then settled in Orange County in the Little Saigon district. The entrepreneur revealed that he struggled for 12 years jumping from job to job, venture to venture, before finding success.
Dubbed the mash-up king in the food industry, Andy started more than 10 food ventures, including the oh-so-popular Afters Ice Cream. This ice cream chain has 27 locations around California and Las Vegas, with an insane fan following. In addition, he also has his footprints in an international clothing brand and a consulting agency.
Along with Gary Vee’s NFT-based restaurant, the birth of Bored & Hungry Restaurant can contribute to removing the stigma surrounding NFTs. These projects are essentially changing the perception that NFTs are just useless jpegs, and also growing the NFT community in the process.
All in all, never been so excited for a restaurant opening in my life!
