The hype around the Azuki NFT founder rug pull issue hasn’t died down. In fact, it led to a feud between some Bored Apes and Azuki NFT holders on Twitter.
Bored Apes x Azuki NFT Holders Starts Feud on Twitter
It has only been a day since the Azuki NFT founder Zagabond posted his blog post on Twitter about the history of his failed projects. Although the founder’s intention might have been to share his experience as an NFT creator, the NFT community on Twitter saw it differently.
His revelation garnered negative attention. He received accusations that he “rug pulled three times within a year” with CryptoPhunks, Tendies, and CryptoZunks. These are projects Zagabond created and admitted were all failures.
The issue didn’t stop with Zagabond. Now, the community also tried to connect other NFT projects to the controversy. For instance, Cool Cats got dragged into the Azuki drama. This happened when Twitter users @thelvlsix and @0xHustler said the Cool Cats NFT team blackmailed Zagabond to confess his past failures.
Bored Apes NFT holders also got involved. As some Azuki NFT holders defend the history of their NFT founder, they also threw accusations at the popular BAYC. Twitter user @robbyhammz, who has an AZUKI NFT as PFP, said that “Pretty funny how Apes are quick to critique @ZAGABOND but are quick to forget how @yugalabs wiped out 55,000 ETH from the market.”
In addition, another Azuki holder on Twitter with username @0xPhaed said that Bored Ape holders are creating FUD using Zagabond. The post even said BAYC had Nazi/Hitler dog whistles in their project. “This too shall pass, and now you’ve made enemies”, the post said.
