Blockchain Game Chainmonsters to Launch Major Alpha-6 Update In August

Blockchain-based game Chainmonsters has announced that it will launch a major Alpha-6 update in mid-August. Game developer B-Side Games, in a blog, stated that the update is the ‘biggest and best game update yet’.

Chainmonsters is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) and is the first game to be developed on the Flow blockchain. It can be played on both PC and mobile devices. 

What the update means for Chainmonsters

Currently, the game is wrapping up its Alpha testing phase. The new update will bring forth a new game world, with many new features. There, the game will start in a small village in the south. From here the players can venture into the first continent and ultimately join N-Corp.

“The world you know is no more,” B-Side Games wrote. “As we approach the end of our Alpha phase we are putting everyone into the game‘s brand new intro levels.”

Meanwhile, the ability to catch Chainmons is one of the brand new features coming in the update. This means that whenever a player comes across a wild Chainmon, they can catch it using the Replicator device. If successful, the player gets to add a level 5 version of the Chainmon to their collection.

Another aspect of the update is new Chainmonsters and added abilities. Players can upgrade their Chainmons’ existing abilities by levelling them up or by adding additional traits over time.

According to B-Side Games, Chainmonsters has doubled its registered players in just over a week to 20,000 players. With the new update, things are about to shake up in the Chainmonsters world!
