AssangeDAO PritiPlease NFTs
AssangeDAO had a 100 edition airdrop of NFTs, which were given out to activists who asked Prito Patel to refuse to sign Assange’s US extradition order.
It was created as an attempt to free Julian Assange, who is the WikiLeaks founder. After the airdrop, they stated: “Keep the momentum and take action! There is not much time left until May 18th. Keep fighting until Assange has his freedom!”
AssangeDAO has also arranged protests, created lots of content, and built up a strong community in order to get Patel to not sign the extradition.
Beyond this, they have also exchanged JBX tokens for ETH, accounting for 198 ETH worth. This ETH will be used to fund the ongoing work of the DAO. This, due to the nature of a DAO went to a vote, and they said that an exchange would be best.
The Julian Assange Case
Julian Assange has been in Belmarsh high-security prison in South East London for three years, without being convicted. Now, the Australian activist is facing extradition to the US. The final decision is due to be made this month by Home Secretary, Priti Patel. Many people feel that extradition should be resisted in the case of Assange, including the AssangeDAO which has been set up to back this case. If he is sent to the United States, he will face an unconfirmed spell of time in an American jail. To clarify, he has been charged with conspiracy to commit computer intrusion (which can be hacking into a government computer). He was first sentenced to 50 weeks in prison for jumping bail and hiding in the Ecuadorian embassy.
