NFT and art enthusiasts in LA are in for a treat! ART & NFTs: The Digital Roots is an exciting NFT pop-up exhibition that will take place in West Hollywood on February 17th and 18th. VerticalCrypto Art (VCA) is putting on the pop-up exhibition, with Rarible, in partnership with Whitewall, and powered by the Tezos blockchain.
Pop-up Exhibition from VerticalCrypto Art will explore the relationship between NFTs and digital art
ART & NFTs: The Digital Roots will explore the ways in which contemporary art is synonymous with digital art.
The event kicks off on Thursday, Feb. 17, with a private opening of the pop-up exhibition. The first part of the event is a speaker panel, which will be moderated by Rarible’s head of creator partnerships, Holly Wood.
Following that, the exhibition at NeueHouse, West Hollywood will open up to the public. The second day of the NFT pop-up exhibition will be open for 12 hours and feature 19 different artists from across the globe.
VerticalCrypto Art founder, Micol Ap, said of the NFT pop-up exhibition, “ART & NFT: The Digital Roots is an amazing opportunity to bring these trail-blazing artists who excel in the digital medium together and explore how web3 is impacting the art world.”
Notably, the pop-up exhibition also has an auction component. To explain, NFTs from ART & NFT: The Digital Roots will be minted on the Tezos blockchain. What’s more, the auction will happen through VCA Auction and Rarible. The NFTs are all 1-of-1s and will be on sale from Feb 17 to Feb 23.
Not only that, but the VCA Auction is also for a great cause. To explain, the auction will support a 12-week residency for artists and creators. This residency includes educational programs for metaverse-native skills and topics. In addition, it will serve as an incubator for newer artists to further their Web3 art careers.
About the four companies teaming up for the exhibition
VerticalCrypto Art is the main force behind the pop-up exhibition. Art curator Micol Ap founded the studio in 2020. VCA focuses on curating NFT fine art, digital art, and new media. As a result, it seeks to prompt conversations around art and the metaverse. It does this by curating content on its website, hosting auctions and, of course, putting on exhibitions like ART & NFTs: The Digital Roots.
Many will recognize Rarible as one of the leading NFT marketplaces. The multi-chain platform offers an easy way for both NFT creators and collectors to buy, sell, trade, and create NFTs. Rarible currently supports NFTs on the Ethereum, Tezos, and Flow blockchains.
Tezos is a proof-of-stake blockchain that supports smart contracts, meaning that it can host NFTs. While it has a much smaller market share at the moment than Ethereum and Solana, it has a thriving ecosystem for NFTs. Not to mention the fact that more and more companies and NFT creators are choosing Tezos due to it having a much smaller carbon footprint than Ethereum.
Finally, there’s Whitewall, a media publication merging the worlds of together the worlds of art, sustainability, Web3, design, fashion, and luxury brands.
