American artist Tristan Eaton releases a 5k generative project: GEMMA

American visual artist Tristan Eaton took to social media to announce his latest NFT project – G.E.M.M.A. G.E.M.M.A, or the Generative Electronic Museum of Metaverse Art, combines Eaton’s art with a particular, collaborative software that results in a randomly generated retrospective of his past work.  The project is dropping on January 12th and comprises 5000 unique, one of a kind NFTs in all.

“For every painting I make, I normally start with the simple portrait… From this stage, the painting can go in a million different directions. In real life, I will only see one of these many possibilities realized into a final work of art,” commented Tristan Eaton in a press statement. 

“[Referring to G.E.M.M.A] It’s like witnessing a multiverse for paintings. This project will live on for a long time with many surprises and bonuses for those who join the Generative Electronic Museum of Metaverse Art!”

Bridging the gap between the real and the metaverse

To promote the project, Tristan Eaton created fake cereal boxes with hidden G.E.M.M.A. NFTs. He then placed them at random grocery stores across five U.S cities and dropped hints using Discord. It’s safe to say that the cereal boxes were swooped up immediately by Eaton’s watchful fans! Additionally, Tristan Eaton is planning four quarterly events; during which NFT holders can burn their G.E.M.M.A NFT in exchange for a 24” x 24” art print of their image.

G.E.M.M.A follows Eaton’s previous NFT project E.M.M.A; which consisted of four animated paintings and 35 NFTs for each of the four artworks. All in all, E.M.M.A, together with G.E.M.MA, are the culmination of Eaton’s love for spray painting, stencil work, and the developing world of digital art. Thanks to these two projects, he’s exploring the metaverse’s place in the contemporary art scene.
