In a tweet posted this morning, the More than Gamers NFT account hinted at an upcoming partnership with fashion brand Champion. The news is a fantastic coup for the More than Gamers (MTG) team. The project is relatively new, but they are already making waves in the NFT world.
In the announcement to their 108 thousand fans, they shared a ‘looking eyes’ emoji and an image of More than Gamers characters wearing one of the iconic Champion logo hoodies.
What is More than Gamers NFT?
MTG is a collection of 10,000 generative NFT characters, each with a unique style. The characters are fighting to survive in the futuristic Gamers metaverse. Players must use a variety of skills to beat the game. The NFT collection went live on 24th December. Remarkably, it sold out in less than 30 seconds.
More than Gamers takes place in a dark and desperate future—a place filled with economic inequality and hate, overseen by a powerful ruling class. Gamers must battle others across the metaverse and use the token $Arcada to survive and purchase all in-game items.
Furthermore, Society class depends on the amount of $Arcada you own. In addition, you can become one of the elite if you own a certain amount of $Arcada. More than Gamers hopes to be more than just an NFT collection.
The MTG Battle station game allows NFT holders to stake their gamer characters in the battle lounge. They can earn $Arcada and Lifeline tokens (which are essential for staying alive in-game).
Once you have accumulated 1,000 $Arcada tokens, you gain the ability to battle the royal elites with a 25% chance of winning a 1/100 rare newly minted NFT.
Along with the NFT collection, More than Gamers have an extensive roadmap planned. Perhaps the Champion partnership is a hidden part of this? In 2022, MTG intends to start manufacturing physical figures based on the NFT collection and a merchandise line. Additionally, they will continue to focus on the MTG Battle station game.
Fashion in the NFT world
In recent months, the fashion industry has started to take notice of NFTs, realising the potential that the space holds.
Adidas has teamed up with the Bored Ape Yacht Club, and other major brands are releasing collections and buying up metaverse land.
In recent weeks, we have interviewed up and coming NFT fashion company IN|RIFT, the metaverse wearable project with considerable plans to overhaul the fashion industry.
With Champion teaming up with MTG, it is a clear sign that it will be a trendy market in 2022.
Champion is known for its forward-thinking, so teaming up with the More than Gamers NFT team is not a surprise.
The renowned global brand has been creating authentic athletic wear for over 100 years; Champion invented the hoodied sweatshirt (hoodie), now a staple item of clothing across the world.
Focusing on the digital space will help them to survive another 100 years.
