Recently, Tishman Speyer, a global real estate company, launched their Rockefeller Center’s Christmas NFT. Before, the company has also minted various NFTs featuring fancy yachts. And now the beloved Rockefeller Christmas Tree is an addition to the Speyer’s series.
Sadly, this NFT didn’t turn out well for the giant estate.
About Rockefeller Center’s Christmas NFTs
Basically, the NFT drop is an animated GIF version of Rockefeller’s Christmas tree. It resembles the original tree via a banner stating “79 feet” at the top.
Rockefeller Center promoted their Christmas NFT before its release at OpenSea. While the NFT auction started on December 13, it will continue until January 1st, 2022.
Regardless, the NFT has created a very little buzz around. Since the collectable has received only 122 views, 4 likes and 3 bids ( at the time of writing). Where the bids placed are as low as $500 or 0.13 ETH. This offered price is even cheaper than the Rockefeller Center ticket.
About the Original Christmas Tree
The famous Christmas tree is a 12 ton Norway spruce, which is placed annually in Manhattan. Usually, the tree is 80 years old.
This year, the popular tree was welcomed with a lighting ceremony on December 1. Furthermore, it will beam for the whole 24 hours on Christmas day.
