NBA Superstar, Steph Curry has announced a surprise NFT drop over Christmas. This is to celebrate his recent feat of breaking the NBA’s All-Time 3-point record. It happened a few nights ago in Madison Square Garden against the Knicks.
About the NFT Drop
Curry recently announced on Twitter that he’ll be releasing his first NFT collection in the immediate future. In the collection, 2,974 NFTs will be released to commemorate his NBA record of 2,974 3-pointers which he surpassed this week.
The collection, which you can find on 2974sc.com, will mint on Monday, December 20th at 8 pm EST. You can mint through the FTX platform.
Notably, all of the proceeds from the launch will go to charity.
Each of the NFTs will highlight a certain 3-point play in Steph’s career that lead up to this moment. The NFT will particularly feature the date, location, Stephen’s digital signature and any special moment associated with it.
To purchase the NFT, it’ll cost $499 and will be available to FTX US users only (3 NFTs per user). The money must be deposited into users’ FTX accounts to be able to be purchased on the site.
Most importantly than all is the final NFT, #2974 will be auctioned out with the site and regular sale. The auction will begin at the same time as the regular mint and will last 72 hours.

Wardell ‘Stephen’ Curry is a 33-year-old American basketball player, born in Charlotte to a father who was an NBA player known for his shooting. He is overall one of the most decorated and legendary NBA players currently playing in the league. He’s often regarded as one of the best point guards of all time. Throughout his career, he has won the NBA MVP 2 times, been credited as an all-star 7 times, and has won 3 NBA Championships with the Warriors. He is generally credited with revolutionizing the game of basketball by inspiring teams to regularly utilize the three-point shot. Also, he has represented the USA national team on several occasions, winning the FIBA World Cup twice, but has never competed in the Olympics. His brother, Seth is also a veteran NBA player who has played for several teams.
Steph coming into the NFT space began with his investment into the Bored Ape Yacht Club. Firstly, purchased #7790 for 55ETH, just over $180,000 at the time. Since he has been very active in the Bored Ape Discord and has changed his Twitter profile picture to that Ape.
