Onessus, the game publisher behind NFT Game HodlGod and Geec, answered the most asked question by the community: “When Staking?.” The development studio didn’t reveal a specific yet but assured the community that it is almost ready. To be exact, they are focusing on developing, testing and auditing smart contracts to ensure that everything works correctly.
The community has been asking about the forthcoming NFT staking protocol for months now. Once live, users can stake assets from all of the Onessus collections. So the rollout covers HodlGod, Void Elementals and Bysterous. The ‘NFT-fi’ system (soon to be renamed) has been on Onessus’ roadmap from the very start. It fully affirms its commitment to bring the community new products and ideas to expand the blockchain ecosystem.
The Onessus Economic Engine will utilize its token “VOID” to facilitate staking transactions. For example, VOID will be used to earn a yield, borrow, lend, burn, upgrade, and trade. Furthermore, the staking system will double as a burn center where players with VOID-backed NFT Collectiblescan redeem their NFTs and receive their VOID tokens.
One thing’s for sure, Onessus is developing a full-pledged staking system.
Good News Beyond Onessus’ NFT Staking Protocol
Aside from assuring the community the launch is happening soon, Onessus also shared more good news about the ecosystem. First is the drop of HodlGod’s latest NFTs in collaboration with DappRadar, consisting of a collection of robot parts. As a treat, fans and collectors who can complete all five will receive a special NFT airdrop in the future.
The magic number to score all five parts during the initial sale is $900. It is definitely not cheap but way lower than the price you have to pay if you buy from the secondary markets. Following earlier mechanics, most of the HodlGod collectibles are backed by the equivalent dollar amount of VOID tokens. This means that at any time, the players can burn their NFTs to retrieve the locked VOID. This has been lauded as an interesting way to give guaranteed value to NFTs.
This drop marks the beginning of DappRadar’s presence as an NFT creator in the Onessus ecosystem. So the partners went all in to make it stand out. The twist is that the items will purchase during the sale will not be actual NFTs. Instead, they will be non-tradeable tokens, which players redeem later for the actual NFT collectibles. Onessus hopes this will help alleviate some of the immediate reselling by bots.
More about VOID
The entire Onessus ecosystem runs on the VOID token because it is the primary payment method within the engine. Additionally, the platform supports other currencies but using VOID tokens drastically reduce transaction fees.
HodlGod players with VOID tokens unlock the potential for additional in-game drops. On the other hand, market sellers stake VOID as credit/collateral and have their items placed higher in the search results. Finally, collectors receive first access to sales when holding a certain amount of VOID.
Therefore, the more the marketplace grows, the more the demand for VOID grows. You can purchase the token on the Alcor Exchange or earn it by playing and streaming HodlGod.
