Korean Artist HGKim Brings ‘Beyond Time and Space’ Collection to Cryptovoxels

Korean artist HyeGyung Kim, popularly known as HGKim, has opened a stellar exhibition in the Cryptovoxels metaverse. Called Beyond Time and Space, the installation gives a glimpse into exquisite Asian artwork.

Kim’s exhibition opened in the Loie gallery in the metaverse on August 14. It will be open to all until the end of this month. Yesterday, she also hosted a live event on Clubhouse to share her inspiration behind the collection.

HGKim has established herself as a renowned artist and has held many successful exhibitions across the globe. She recreates beautiful traditional motifs in Korean culture into contemporary digital artwork. Furthermore, her artworks often feature traditional crafts like refine porcelain and antique wooden furniture. These are slightly animated to bring out their beauty, complete with light and sound. Moreover, these interactive digital artworks often take the form of NFTs. 

The Loie gallery in Cryptovoxels is the metaverse gallery designed in Korean traditional architecture. Some of Kim’s exhibits here include projection mappings on East Asian traditional ceramics and media facades recreating Seoul’s many cultural symbols.

Meanwhile, at Yard, one can see artworks featuring letter paintings on Chinese Qing Dynasty snuff bottles. “Through this work, I wanted to show how the gap between ethical ideology emphasizes morality and human nature that follows,” Kim wrote.

Another beautiful work is the projection mapping on Korean traditional celadons. “I wanted to interpret lively Korean traditional patterns in connotation of auspicious meaning in a contemporary style,” she added. 

A happening metaverse, Cryptovexels has held numerous virtual exhibitions. Previously, they have also hosted community galleries for crypto communities like imnotArt.
