Grammy-award-winning producers James Fauntleroy and Hit-Boy officially joined the NFT market as KINGSHIP’s music producers. The two iconic songwriters will oversee the supergroup’s sound direction as they make history on the Web3 scene. Their NFT collection currently ranks No. 1 in OpenSea’s NFT music charts in a rapidly-evolving niche!
Why did Hit-Boy and James Fauntleroy join the KINGSHIP music NFT project?
The leading music producers James Fauntleroy and Hit-Boy have just joined the KINGSHIP NFT project as co-executive producers. James Fauntleroy is a multi-Grammy-winning songwriter; in fact, he is the first pure producer to receive the “Song of the Year” Grammy award for Bruno Mars’ “24k Magic”. Meanwhile, Hit-Boy, a fellow multi-award winner, has been producing hit records for Jay-Z, Rihanna, Travis Scott, and more.
Together, the award-winning artists will shape the supergroup’s musical evolution. In order to do so, the new team will collaborate with Mutant DJ Arnell, KINGSHIP’s main producer.
“It’s so exciting to be a part of something historical and ambitious”, said James Fauntleroy. “As a huge nerd, and music fanatic, I can’t wait to see what comes from the intersection of the web3 collectors/creatives and the entertainment creative community.”
In addition, NFT producer Hit-Boy confessed to being “always looking to push things forward musically. This is a great opportunity to do something new in the web3 space.”
What is KINGSHIP?
In short, KINGSHIP is a collection of 5,000 NFT Key Cards offering access to a music-centered virtual supergroup. Currently, the KINGSHIP group consists of a rare Mutant Ape and three rare Bored Ape collectibles.
Each Key Card NFT holder gains access to exclusive songs, a dedicated community, and more unique content produced under Hit-Boy and James Fauntleroy’s guidance. Accordingly, digital assets come with different rarities too. For example, there’s a Key Card option for each of the four KINGSHIP band members:
- Arnell (producer, drums, beats);
- Hud (keyboards, guitar, vocals);
- Captain (bass, vocals);
- KING (lead vocals).
The KINGSHIP NFT collection sold out in August. At the moment of writing, the project ranks No. 1 on the OpenSea Music NFT chart. Moreover, the band has recently signed a partnership with M&M, which they showcased in their most recent video, “Rider”.
Are music NFTs on the rise?
Hit-Boy and James Fauntleroy aren’t the only iconic producers joining the NFT market. In fact, we’ve seen the NFT music niche include more and more genres over the summer. For instance, country band Florida Georgia Line’s lead vocalist Brian Kelley launched his own NFT music club. Meanwhile, David Guetta joined Stage11’s initiative to create a music-themed Metaverse experience for fans across the world.
