Artist Thea-Mai Baumann has had her Instagram account reinstated after a minted Metaverse Flamingo NFT helped prove her identity as the rightful owner of her @Metaverse handle. Clout.art (SWAY), the popular Instagram minting/selling platform assisted her to get her account back due to the power of the Blockchain.
The Metaverse Flamingo NFT Saves the Day
Last week, artist Thea-Mai Baumann’s @metaverse account on Instagram was suspended after Meta was unveiled. Instagram deemed her account as fake, taking it offline. However, unbeknownst to her, the NFT she created nearly ten years ago named the Metaverse Flamingo NFT helped validate her account and prove it was hers.
Clout.art put Thea-Mai’s Instagram account on the Blockchain through validation when the artist decided to mint the Flamingo NFT. Minting the Flamingo created a social to wallet identity pair, effectively proving that she owned the @Metaverse account. As a result, the evidence allowed her to reopen the Instagram account and take back her Metaverse handle.
Thea-Mai’s Flamingo NFT. shows the power of the Blockchain. The Blockchain is secure and provides an accurate record of transactions and actions. Likewise, it also shows the power of the Blockchain in holding those accountable for their actions. As a result, it is becoming more important for artists to protect themselves online; the Blockchain is one way for artists to do this. Thea-Mai Baumann is one example of this with her Flamingo NFT.
