The Mongol NFT Platform is giving “patriotism” a modern take! Since its launch in September, the platform has been relentlessly shining the spotlight on Mongolia’s incredible history, culture and character. To achieve this, they are bringing Mongolian artists to the world stage and promoting authentic cultural experiences to tourists through the Metaverse.
What Can Mongol NFT Platform Offer?
Each country has its own charm. However, it’s usually a mystery to outsiders. Mongol NFT Co-Founders Gabit Bazar and Adiya Bayansan pointed out that “such is the case with Mongolia” in an interview with Cointelegraph. So their vision is to change this by showcasing the country’s talents. They added, “We were always behind the rest of the world by 20 years, 30 years. But with NFTs and blockchain technology, we are all starting from precisely the same point together.”
Mongol NFT platform currently supports artists from various fields. They count singers, artists, painters and movie producers as their NFT Content Creators.
As the name suggests, the central theme is the world’s largest landlocked country that does not border a closed sea. The NFTs narrate the beauty and secrets of the wild, dramatic and exhilarating land of Mongolia.
Gabat and Bayansan shared, “We have a theme of the 13th century, for example, during the time of Genghis Khan. Another artist focuses on Tengri and the culture of the nomadic Central Asian steppes. One artist was in the Marco Polo [who journeyed east to visit Kublai Khan] Netflix show and will be producing cartoon NFTs on that topic.”
Currently, users purchasing an NFT can use the fiat Mongolian currency (Tögrög, p. Tugrik) or use the platform’s own token MNFT. Bittrex is the partner exchange. So creators can cash out to their exchange or they can get their fiat to their Mongolian bank accounts.
Reception So Far and Future Plans
Metrics-wise, the two-month-old Mongol NFT is doing well! The platform has surpassed 100,000 registered users and close to 400 creators in various stages of their projects. Moreover, they already have approximately 5,000 drops in, with one collection selling out within five seconds.
So what’s next for the platform?
The platform’s differentiator is anchored on MNFT. For example, the team MNFT holders will have access to exclusive and specific content. Then, next on the pipeline are exclusive video and music streaming powered by the MNFT coins.
In addition, the platform wants to launch a unique tourism campaign on the Metaverse. Specifically, the team is building the Mongol Valley in their virtual plot on The Sandbox. Users can “can see the arts, the festival, go to the marketplace to get the NFTs, and use the MNFT coin to purchase.”
The beauty of this initiative is that any artists can do exhibitions or concerts. Things are looking good for the project because the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia is endorsing its campaign. A boost in tourism means more jobs, investments and growth, so it will definitely be a win-win situation for the artists, NFT holders, government and even local citizens.
