Decentraland has done it again, this time with its Metaverse Art Week! After the success of Decentraland Fashion Week, Decentraland Metaverse Art Week promises to be a celebration of art. This year’s event, which takes place between August 24 and 28, is inspired by the Venice Biennale with the official slogan “The World Is Made Of Code.”
About Decentraland Metaverse Art Week
This year’s Metaverse Art Week is curated by David Cash, who brought this year’s theme to life through 3D sculptures and videos in collaboration with some of the top names in the art world. These include Lady Gaga’s creative director Nicola Formichetti, contemporary artist Krista Kim and celebrated fashion photographer Nick Knight.
“At this point in metaverse history, artists and curators are constantly battling between fidelity and how many users can experience a virtual space simultaneously,” said David Cash. “During the third edition of Art Week, we have the chance to witness the best of both worlds, presenting several artworks at a massive scale at their full resolutions. I’m excited to see how this experimental yet new realm of technical possibilities will inspire artists to create works beyond their wildest dreams.”
The four-day event includes performances, conceptual art productions, NFT exhibitions, art installations and panel talks. The main events are taking place in Soho Plaza, the art district of Decentraland, which has been converted into an open-air museum. In addition, the Voltaire Art District is also hosting art collective exhibitions and panel discussions by leading art and web3 thought leaders.
