Vic Mensa and Keyon Christ, two Kanye West / G.O.O.D. Music collaborators, have joined forces for the music NFT drop of their single “Ying Yang Twins.” In addition to the drop, DJs and remixers can buy the NFT and remix the song themselves. What’s more, the holder with the best remix will win 4.20 ETH.
About the Ying Yang Twins drop
The song has just dropped as an NFT and is currently in the midst of a 48-hour Open Edition (powered by Zora). Fans who mint the NFT are able to use Spores’ remix platform Keon to remix the song using a stem player. Via this player, fans will be able to use 50 futuristic-sounding stems and create their own interpretation of the tune.
Fans can purchase the NFT by visiting the custom site, connecting their wallet, and purchasing the song for 0.0888 ETH. From there, they can remix the song with Keon in no time. After completing the remix, NFT holders can submit it for the chance to win 4.20 ETH.
About Vic Mensa and Keyon Christ
Vic Mensa is an American rapper currently signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. Before starting a solo career, he was a member of the group “Kids These Days.” After the group split, he released his debut solo mixtape “Innanetape,” followed by his debut album “The Autobiography” in 2017. In 2015, Kanye West featured Vic Mensa alongside Sia in his song “Wolves.” He recently released a four-song EP “Vino Valentino” this year.
Keyon Christ, formerly Mitus, is an artist and former producer at Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music. In hip-hop circles, he is known for his work on West’s “FML,” Rihanna’s “Goodnight Gotham” and Lil Yachty’s “No More.”
Together, these artists use web3 to expand their careers. This is one of the many music drops powered by Zora, which has also worked with Pussy Riot, Disclosure and Toro y Moi, to name but a few.
The platform has undoubtedly become one of the top protocols for artists. This is because it allows them to create their own NFTs independently. Recently, Zora announced the launch of its new NFT API platform, which provides detailed records of more than 42 million NFTs.
