Hot Wheels x WAX To Release Digital & Physical Collectibles and a Game

Hot Wheels, one of the biggest toys of the last fifty years, is teaming up with WAX blockchain. This unique collaboration is made possible through Mattel Inc. Significantly, they are the owners of Hot Wheels and one of the largest children’s entertainment companies in the world. The partnership will tie NFTs along with physical diecast cars. Additionally, there is also an upcoming Hot Wheels Unleashed video game.

Hot Wheels x WAX Partnership races ahead!

Fans of the famous car collectibles have an opportunity to collect both physical and web3 versions of some fantastic cars.

Thanks to the technology provided by WAX’s vIRL (virtual in real life) technology, each token is tied to a physical replica of a Hot Wheels NFT car. Packs of seven collectible NFTs cost $25. In total, this particular auction has 5,400 NFTs up for grabs.

Officially ‘The Hot Wheels NFT Garage™ series 3’, the collection partnership with WAX offers ten licensed vehicle models across four separate mini-collections. Each mini-collection contains between seven and eight different car models. What’s more, eleven of those models are various styles and features.

Notably, all the cars in the Hot Wheels NFT collection with WAX will represent favourites from Mattel’s impressive Hot Wheels Unleashed™ video game.

Significantly, these NFTs are available in five levels of rarity. These are Base, Rare, Premium, NFTH (Treasure Hunt), and Showroom.

Mattel plans long-term Web3 Strategy

The move into web3 is the latest effort by the legendary toymaker Mattel as they build for the future. The emergence of the metaverse, NFTs and more has given Mattel an excellent opportunity to race ahead with its plans for a digital transformation to future-proof the company founded in 1945.
