Anthony Hopkins is a Welsh actor known for his performances on the screen and on stage. One of his biggest performances was his role in ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ as Hannibal Lecter. Now, the worldwide famous actor is stepping into NFTs, confirming it through his Tweet asking for recommendations from his celebrity friends.
Anthony Hopkins’ Step into NFTs
Actor, Anthony Hopkins, has announced his move into investing in NFTs and he is now interested in acquiring his first piece after being “astonished” by all the great NFT artists.
Currently, his Twitter display name is AHopkins.eth, suggesting that he owns the domain name. He likely purchased this ENS domain whilst doing his research as his NFT interest built. Officially, this was his first step into the NFT space.
Hopkins asked for the help of his celebrity pals: Snoop Dogg, Jimmy Fallon and Reese Witherspoon. This trio of worldwide famous celebs have been massive fans of the NFT space, with all three being amongst the biggest celebrity collectors of NFTs, all owning blue chips.
The Celebrity and Twitter’s Response
Out of the three celebrity friends he tagged, he has received a response from talk-show host Jimmy Fallon. The American said: “There (is) a bunch of great artists out there and it’s a fun community in general. But, as the great Aaron Neville once said “I don’t know much – but I know I love you.” And that may be all you need to know. DM me.”
Also, gmoney, a celebrity in the NFT space himself responded by saying “Did anyone else read this in classic Anthony Hopkins accent?”. Thankfully for those who heard it, Hopkins responded with a voice note in his iconic “best Welsh boyo voice”. You can see the video here.
It is unsure what NFT Hopkins will purchase first, or what his famous pals will recommend to him. But one thing is for sure, he certainly seems intrigued by the space.
