There is a new NFT scam operating on OpenSea, and Skills Of Arcade is one of them. This NFT collection is not legitimate, and you should avoid contact with it. One of the first people to encounter this scam was Twitter user @JonnieKing, who was immediately cautious about the NFT and warned the community.
How does the Skills Of Arcade NFT scam work?
There are currently 61 of these NFTs on OpenSea, and they have been sent to 271 users. If you receive one in your wallet, do not interact or accept any offer.
This is a brand new exploit that preys on people’s greed. It starts by airdropping you a Skills Of Arcade NFT. Then, the hackers will send you a sizeable WETH offer after some time.
If you click on the proposal, it gives them complete access and control over every NFT in your wallet. Of course, when you receive such an offer, it can shock you, and the scammers want to confuse and trick you into accepting.
OpenSea makes code public!
Recently, OpenSea made its code fully available to the public. Obviously, this has positive and negative implications. It will allow others to help improve the code and make it more secure.
However, it could also offer an opportunity for people to find holes in the code and exploit it. The Skills Of Arcade NFT scam might be the first of many that operate similarly. Finally, always make sure you keep up to date with the latest NFT security news and guides.
