Next month, the 81-year-old Beatles drummer will sell his digital artwork in an online auction. Further, the name of the collection is “Ringo Starr NFT Collection — The Creative Mind of a Beatle.”
Moreover, he has scheduled the auction for June 13, with five different NFTs (four of each set) up for sale. In fact, Julien’s Auctions is hosting the event, and fans can bid on the artworks starting at $1,000.
According to Julien’s Auctions CEO Darren Julien, Sir Ringo Starr was an “innovative auction legend.”
Meanwhile, the NFTs will feature animated artwork and a “custom-made drum composition recorded and played” by Ringo Starr himself. In addition, fans who purchase the NFTs will also receive 25″ x 25″ canvas prints signed by the Beatles drummer.
Also, part of the profits from Ringo Starr’s NFT collection will go to his charity, The Lotus Foundation. In brief, it is an organization that supports projects on improving people’s social welfare and health in diverse areas.
“I only ever wanted to be a drummer yet you never know where a new idea or path will lead you,” Ringo Starr said.
“This new technology is so far out it’s inspired me and I loved creating these NFTs combining my art and my music. Who’d have thought I would be spreading Peace and Love in the MetaVerse.”
